Bao Vtuber
Who is Bao?
Bao VTuber, also known as Bao the Whale and Hikaru Station, is a female American VTuber. She made her debut as a virtual YouTuber in October 2020. Bao is currently signed under the United Talent Agency (UTA). She’s a Twitch streamer, regularly uploading stream highlights plus music on YouTube.
Bao is the reincarnation of the 52-hertz whale. Emerging from seafoam, she believes herself to be the last of her kind. She has witnessed several wars and explored every ocean. For that reason, Bao yearned for a connection, desperately longing for someone to hear her voice. She loves to sing, voice act, and write music.
The Bao real name is a topic of interest among fans. She shared that her name translates to “storm” in Vietnamese. Before becoming a VTuber, she made music under the name Hikaru Station. Most of her social media accounts referenced this username.
Hikaru Station was inspired by her love for the movie 5 Centimeters per Second. This Japanese anime is a romantic drama directed by Makoto Shinkai. Bao wanted to be called “Hikari,” the Japanese word for light. However, she chose “Hikaru” instead because it sounded more androgynous.
Despite the intrigue surrounding Bao real identity, this VTuber continues to capture her audience with her persona. She is incredibly cheerful and quick to smite any negativity with humor. Her hobbies include eating jellyfish and singing into seashells. She likes hot fish girls and the blue color. Bao’s dislikes cannot be left out. She loathes avocados and cold showers. She also dislikes Michael Reeves and salami jar lids that don’t fit.
Bao VTuber

She also converses with fans on other platforms like Twitter (X), Instagram, and Discord. Her musical talent is a significant part of her appeal. She writes songs and covers, showcasing her vocal skills.
Bao has been creating content since 2015. It was around this time that she created accounts on Twitch and Twitter. In that year, she would make original songs and upload song covers. She also made different anime OP covers. From time to time, Bao would cover gaming soundtracks. Examples include Undertale’s Stronger Than You and Bubblegum K.K. from Animal Crossing: New Horizon.
When Bao made her debut as a VTuber, she also released the first cover of an original song by another VTuber. The title of the song is “Excuse My Rudeness, But Could You Please R.I.P?” By Calliope Mori. After that, she did a cover of Doja Cat’s Say So in Japanese. On 8 November, Bao released her first song as a VTuber, titled 52 Hearts.

What Does Bao Look Like?
Hayamafair designed the Bao character with help from Arucelli. Brian Tsuii did her rigging/modeling. For Bao’s debut, the VTuber said that Hayamafair illustrated her to be “free and enthusiastic”, similar to the playful spirit of an ocean. Her design was originally found on Pinterest. Bao purchased it. Hayamafair did the revamping.
Bao VTuber has shown different variations in her look. Her early concept has a simple elegance. She wears a blue one-piece dress with a wide ribbon at the back. The animations are amazing, with dynamic expressions. The waterspout is consistent with the whale theme.
Bao’s second look has a more fantasy theme. She retains her waterspout. However, she’s able to create bubbles with it. Also, her hair has a pulsating light. Bao’s third outfit has a more casual concept, with prevalent white and blue colors. Her hair still glows, and the bubbles are still as bubbly. The noticeable difference is the added tail. Other looks from this elegant VTuber include the chibi, summer/lemon, and spring models.
On 1 March 2024, she introduced her second model, featuring Princess Bao and Yandere Bao. Princess Bao has red eyes and blue hair. Her long, blue hair is styled with bangs adorned with distinctive white symbol markings. Her Yandere form has a similar aesthetic but with long, light pink hair and red symbol markings.
While fans are curious about Bao IRL (in real life), she has done some face reveals with parts of her face obscured. The Bao face reveal shows there is a match between her VTuber avatar and her real appearance. This resemblance is particularly in hairstyle and facial structure.

Bao Face Reveal
Bao VTuber has witnessed enormous growth over the years. This has led her fans to search for a Bao real face leak. With her fame, it’s natural to be curious about her identity and any leaked images. While most VTubers protect their privacy, some have shown their faces.
Bao has publicly posted her real face and figure. However, the picture is always censored in some way. She was secretive about her identity when she was known as Hikaru Station. People identified her by an anime illustration.
It was only recently that the Bao face reveal became common. She has started doing a lot of real-life streams similar to vlogs. There are quite a number of them on YouTube. Some of her content shows her collaboration with an animal sanctuary and videos of her in events like Open Sauce.
Due to videos like this, fans have an idea of Bao IRL and how she acts outside her streams. However, she always wears a face mask to hide some parts of her face. Back in 2021, Bao posted a picture on her Twitter account. In the photo, she used the art of an onigiri to conceal part of her lower face. This practice is usually common among VTubers. They do this when they want to show their identity while maintaining anonymity.
In 2022, she did another reveal on Twitter. This time, parts of her lower face were more visible. These glimpses have allowed fans to piece together her appearance beyond her VTube avatars. Her YouTube vlogs are a great way to see what she looks like.
